This painting was designated by Jean Paul Riopelle for his hoped-for Foundation; the
painting was therefore not for sale but available on a loan basis to various institutions. The Foundation
did not materialize and the works intended for it came to Canada in 1997. They
included ‘Mont Orange’ which was distributed in 2005 by the artist’s Estate.
