At Winchester Galleries on Oak Bay Avenue

As a printmaker I work in the difficult, physically demanding and slow medium of copperplate etching.  The plates can take anywhere from two to six months before completion.  Then follows the work of pulling the edition.

I find the contrast of watercolour painting invigorating, a relief.  While the medium provides great challenges in its refusal to be controlled….it is direct and spontaneous… allowing for great freedom in drawing and the use of colour.

Additionally my watercolour work is ‘set up’ in my home….not in the studio…providing a relaxed domestic environment in which to work.
